There has been a bit of Bitcoin panic recently but should we be getting worried or will everything work out well?

The Story So Far

If you read this blog regularly you will know I have a small Crypto-Currency investment and I like to keep you updated on my experiences and thoughts on it.

It has been a roller coaster ride with my investment and if you haven’t already read my previous posts on this subject, you might want to check out Bitcoin – Have You Missed Out and Crypto Crisis – Is It Time To Cash Out.

After experiencing the highs at the end of 2017 and the massive crash back down in early 2018 I was left wondering if Digital Currency really was a good investment?

My Bitcoin and Ethereum investments are still around double their initial values but Litecoin is slightly down.

So not all bad so far but a lot less than it was at the end of 2017.

Is It Time For Bitcoin Panic?

So… is it really time for Bitcoin Panic or should we keep believing?

All my investments have crept up slightly in recent weeks and after reading what financial experts have been saying I am confident they will keep going in the right direction.

Bitcoin and all Crypto-Currencies are very volatile and the prices can fluctuate from hour to hour but there is a lot of talk about prices increasing this year.

I have heard reports suggesting Bitcoin could rise to as much as $30000 in 2018 which would be an unbelievable rise but if it gets to a similar price that it reached at the end of 2017 I would be happy with that.

Bitcoin Panic Over?

Is the Bitcoin panic now over?  Panic selling doesn’t help and sometimes a calm head is needed to profit in the long term.

I am confident prices will rise this year and will be keeping my investment in the long term.

If you have a Crypto-Currency investment I would love to hear your thoughts on it.  You can post a comment below.

To invest in Bitcoin and other Crypto-Currencies you need a Digital Wallet.  There are lots available but the one I use and recommend is Coinbase.

I hope you enjoyed this update on my investments.  Check out the rest of the site for more ways to make money in your spare time.

*Remember investments can be risky and you should only invest money you can afford to lose.  I am not a qualified financial advisor and the views in this post are my own personal experience with Digital Currency.  Please take the appropriate financial advice before investing money.  You may find affiliate links in my posts.  Please see the ABOUT US page for details of my links.

Business Motivation – The Key To Success

Business motivation is one of the most important factors if you are to be successful in your chosen venture, but quite often it is overlooked.

In this post I will show you how to get motivated and keep your Business motivation in the long term.

How To Get Business Motivation

When you first start out, your Business motivation should come naturally.

The buzz of being in Business and the freedom to control your own destiny gets the adrenaline flowing and inspires you to work hard.

That’s the easy bit!

Once the initial buzz has passed you need to keep the Business motivation to keep your business moving forwards.

So what can you do to keep motivated?

1. Set Yourself Goals

Keep setting yourself goals and targets to keep your Business motivation on track.  This will keep you focused and allow you to drive the business forward.

Your goals could be daily, weekly, monthly or even yearly targets to give you a sense of achievement each time you reach your goal.

2. Find Inspiration In Others

The success of other people in similar Businesses can be used to motivate you.

Find out who the key figures are in your Business sector.  Look at their achievements and try to emulate them.

Look at how they run their Businesses and always be willing to take advice and learn from others.

3. Try New Things

Routine can create boredom and a lack of Business motivation.

Keep things fresh and look for new ways of working or new technology that could help improve the way you do things.

Anything that prevents you getting bored will help with your motivation and just a small change can have a dramatic effect on how you feel about your business.

4. Don’t Burn Yourself Out

It can be tempting to work all hours when you start a Business and sometimes it can be difficult to avoid early in your Business life, but all work and no play can leave you resenting your working life.

Tiredness and fatigue can creep in and change the way we feel about our Business.

You have to enjoy working in your Business if you are to stay motivated so take breaks where possible.

Try limiting the amount of hours you work per day… set a time for your working day and stick to it!

Stop working weekends (unless your Business has to be open on these days).  Weekends give you the time to recharge your batteries and have the energy for the weeks ahead.

5. Reward Yourself

Rewarding yourself for your hard work is a great way to create Business motivation.

A reward doesn’t have to cost a fortune but can help you to focus on your achievements.

You could treat you and your Family to a day out or go for a nice meal or maybe just buy those shoes you have had your eye on.

It can be difficult to spend money on yourself when you are in Business but a small treat now and again will make a massive difference to the way you feel and keep you motivated to reap the rewards in the future.

I hope this list will give you some ideas to keep your Business motivation for the long term and inspire you to be successful.

If you haven’t started your venture yet and you are thinking of starting a part time Business, you might like the post – Starting A Part Time Business – Is It For Me?

Employed or Self Employed – Which has the most risk?

That is an easy question to answer… or is it?

In this post I will look at whether being employed is the safe option or could being self employed carry less risk?

Is Being Employed The Safe Option?

We are told from an early age to work hard at school and get a good education so that we can get a good safe job and live happily ever after.

This brain washing works on most people and we follow these rules throughout our lives until we pick up our pension… if we are lucky!

But are we really happy with this and what price do we pay for a ‘safe’ career choice?

Most of us will wake up early, drag ourselves out of bed and go to work every day with a feeling of dread.

Our lives fly by, scraping a living while we make someone else rich with our hard work.

And don’t forget… this rich person that steals our precious time also controls our entire life.

They tell us when we have to be at work, when we can have a holiday and how much we will be paid.

Our boss can also fire us at any time!

Is your safe little life still feeling like the SAFE option?

Maybe there is a better way?

Could Self Employed Really Be Safe?

If you are Self Employed you must be taking a risk… right?

Well yes there are risks when you are self employed.  But as I mentioned earlier being employed isn’t exactly risk free.

Yes it can cost money to start a business and finding enough work to earn a living can be hard.

Being self employed can also bring you things that being employed rarely does.

It can bring you FREEDOM!

Freedom to work when it suits you.

Freedom to earn what you want to earn.

And the freedom to be in control of your own life and live on your own terms.

Can I Lower The Risks?

You can minimize the risks that self employment brings with the business model that you choose.

If you choose a business that has low start up costs and low overheads for example.

Choose something you have good knowledge of and continue to learn… there is always more to LEARN!

A good example of a safe business is an online business such as affiliate marketing.

The overheads are low and the rewards can be great.

You can also work at a time that suits you… night or day?

Blogging is a good way to get in to affiliate marketing.  Check out my post – Start A Blog On A Budget to get your blogging career off to a low cost start.

If you still aren’t ready to take the plunge and go self employed full time then a part-time business might be the way to go.  Take a look at the post – Starting A Part Time Business – Is It For You?

Whatever you decide to do I hope this post has given you a few things to think about and maybe it will inspire you to achieve your dream career.

*Please note these are my opinions regarding self-employment and any financial decisions should not be taken lightly.  Always consult a qualified business and financial adviser before making these decisions.

Starting a part time business is a big commitment… but is it suitable for you?

There are lot’s of people who would like to make extra money in their spare time but most won’t actually do anything about it.

In this post I will talk about why this can happen and how to choose the right part time business for you.

Is A Part Time Business For Me?

There are lots of different ways to make money in your spare time – some of which you can find in the post 7 Ways To Make Spare Time Cash , but you have to choose what is right for you and also decide if starting a part time business is right for you at all.

The reason I say that it may not be for everyone is that whatever you do to make the extra money, will take up time and take certain skills that you may or may not have.

So before you decide to look at different ways to earn money, think about the following

  • How much spare time do I have?
  • What days and times do I have to do the work?
  • What skills do I have?
  • Will other members of the family be helping me?
  • Am I self motivated enough to do it?

So lets look at each of these bullet points in more detail.

How Much Spare Time Do I Have?

Look at what spare time you have.

What do you do with this spare time at the moment?

If you spend your spare time sat in front of the TV, then the time could probably be spent in a more constructive way – like making extra money!

If you spend your spare time at the gym or playing sport or doing any organised hobby with other people, then you might not want to give this up and so limiting the time you have to do other things.

What Days And Times Do I Have To Do The Work?

Think about when you have spare time.

What hours do you work, how many hours a day?

If you get home from work at a late time and have a tiring job, you will have to think carefully about the type of extra work you do to earn a second income.

If your extra work is online, then this can be done anytime, day or night.

On the other hand, if the extra work involves doing something offline then you need to make sure you are available at the correct time to do the work.

What Skills Do I Have?

Take a look at what you are good at.

Think about the type of work that would suit you best.

Are you good with computers?

Do you have any technical skills such as building websites for example?

By going through what you can and can’t do you can quickly get a list of possible ways to make money and rule out the ones that aren’t suitable.

Will Other Members Of The Family Be Helping Me?

Think about who will help you with your part time business… if anyone.

Do you have a partner who can help?

Maybe you have teenage children who can get involved in some way?

This can have a massive effect on the amount of time that can be put in and can be a real help in creating a part time business.

Am I Self Motivated Enough To Do It?

Lot’s of people like the thought of starting a part time business but whatever you eventually decide to do, you will need the discipline and self motivation to put in extra work on a regular basis.

If you have a bad day in your day job you will still have to put the extra work in when you get home.

This can be very difficult and you really have to love what you do to keep going when it becomes difficult for some reason. It is easy to just say ‘I will do it tomorrow’, but that isn’t always possible and your focus needs to be on your part time business.

So… Is It For You?

Take a look at all these factors and decide whether a part time business is suitable for you.

This will give you a clearer vision of what is involved and you can start your business knowing exactly what you can expect in the future.

This knowledge can be the difference between success and failure.

I hope this post has given you a few things to think about and helps you make an informed decision about you future.

Enjoy the ride!

You’ve started a blog. You’ve created content and gained some traffic.  So now it’s time to monetize your blog.

I’m assuming this is the stage you are at.  If you haven’t created your blog yet you might want to read my post Start A Blog On A Budget.

If you have created your blog read on to find out how to monetize it.

Here you will find 5 sites with affiliate programs that you can use to offer suitable affiliate promotions to you target audience.

Amazon Associates

The Amazon Associates program is a great place to start monetizing your blog.

Due to the amount of items they sell you should have no problem finding suitable products to suit your niche.

They offer great ways to link to their products with ad widgets, text links and API to allow you to create online stores full of Amazon products.

This is very easy to integrate into your blog by writing posts about specific products and then providing links to the product or even just putting an Ad Widget on your site.

Whenever anyone visits Amazon  through your links and then buys something, you will receive a commission.  You still get a commission if they buy a different product to the one you featured in your blog post so this can be a good way to earn some money.

Ebay Partner Network

The Ebay Partner Network is similar to the Amazon Associates program.  It allows you to link to items that are for sale on Ebay and also has Ad widgets that can be tailored to your target audience.

You receive a commission every time someone clicks your link and goes on to buy a product.

The commissions aren’t that big but it can be another useful income stream if you feel the Ebay products are a good fit for your blog visitors.

Shareasale

Shareasale is an affiliate network that works with many different companies.

Whatever your niche you will probably find a suitable company to partner with.

When you are looking for ways to monetize your blog you need to choose a product or service that your audience will be interested in and Shareasale have a great selection.

When you sign up and find a suitable product to promote you have to apply to the Company to get accepted.  Once they have checked out your website and you have been accepted you will then have access to links that you can copy and paste into your website.

The type of promotional links and the terms and conditions varies depending on the Company but the commissions are usually quite good.

Occasionally you will get turned down by a Company but don’t let that put you off.  Sometimes your website won’t fit what they are looking for so move on and apply for any of the other partnership programs available.

Shopstyle Collective

Shopstyle Collective is another affiliate network but this is slightly different to Shareasale.

This program offers you a different way to monetize your blog through affiliate links as you don’t need to make a sale to earn commissions.

By adding Shopstyle Collective links to your website you get paid per click.  This means you only need someone to click through from one of your links to earn some money.

The payment per click is quite small but if you have a high traffic website it can be a useful addition.

Shopstyle Collective work with Companies in the fashion industry which means if you have a lifestyle or fashion blog this might be a good fit for you.

Hosting Companies

Promoting the Hosting Company you use can be a very lucrative way to monetize your blog.

Whatever Company you use to host your website it will probably have an affiliate program.

As this is a Company you use you can tell your audience about the benefits of their services and sometimes you will be able to offer discounts through your links.

If you have more than one website you may have more than one hosting provider.  This will give you even more options to promote to your visitors.

I use 1&1 and WP Engine for my various websites.  Each offer different services and each one is suitable for different types of website so whatever my audience is looking for I can recommend the most suitable for their needs.

You can add these links into blog posts or place adds on your site.

Some of these Hosting Companies offer one off payments while others offer recurring monthly payments.

The payouts are usually quite high so it is well worth trying to promote them if it fits your blog.

If you need hosting for your blog you can save 20% here.

Sign up to the WP Engine affiliate program here.

Monetize Your Blog

Now you have 5 ways to monetize your blog it’s time to get started.

If you choose the products and services that you promote with your audience in mind, it can provide a great income.

Try to promote products that you use and know are great.  This will help your followers and be beneficial in the long term.

Good luck in your search to monetize your blog.

Crypto Crisis! – Sounds dramatic doesn’t it?  That’s the reaction the media outlets want when they talk about Bitcoin and other Crypto Currencies losing a massive percentage of their value.

Since my last post on the subject of Crypto Currencies – Bitcoin – Have You Missed Out? –  the value has plummeted and as usually happens, caused panic among some of it’s investors.

In this post I will again offer my views and an insight into which direction I am going with my Crypto adventure.

Is There A Crypto Crisis?

Well there has certainly been a dramatic fall in prices but I don’t think there is a crisis just yet.  Crypto currencies are volatile and the value can change massively from day to day… and sometimes hour to hour!

Anyone who has invested recently might be seeing losses right now but longer term investors should still be in profit.

What Next?

So what’s next for Bitcoin and the like?  Well if I knew that I would be very rich!  I can offer my views on how I think things will go.

In my time as a Bitcoin investor the price has steadily grown with the odd dip in value here and there.  It has always seemed to come back stronger for a while with more steady growth and going on to reach record highs.

After the highs there has to be some lows at some point.  At the moment we are in one of the lows but if previous trends continue we could see steady growth again in the future.

My Plans

My plans for my investments is to keep hold of them.  I am still showing a profit overall which is considerably more than it would have got in the bank.

I think the prices will rise again and maybe even go on to new highs.

If you haven’t invested yet maybe now is the time with the prices being low, but remember to only invest what you can afford to lose.

If you are looking to invest I use Coinbase for my Bitcoin wallet and have had no problems with them and am happy to recommend them.

I have thoroughly enjoyed my roller coaster ride with my Bitcoin investment and I’m sure there will be plenty of ups and downs in the future.

Good luck with your investments and hopefully my next post on this subject will be about record highs!
