As I had mentioned before Glasgow Celtic are my passion. They actually were the first ever British Team to win the European Cup, or the Champions league as it is known now. Unfortunately they have only won our Superbowl once and it was in 1967!!!!

They came close again on a few occasions but due to the nature of sponsorship and television Audiences, Scotland and hence Celtic see a lesser amount of revenue than the other European giants, such as Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United and Liverpool to name a few, and as such have difficulty competing at the top table.

However what we lack in finance we make up for with heart and passion and as such some of the best footballers in the world become awed and starstruck in the Celtic Park atmosphere.

Unfortunately it will always be American Football to me, there is only one true football and it’s not called soccer!!

I actually grew up watching American Football late on Sunday evenings and chose my favorite team, based on the similar colors of my true football team , The Green Bay Packers to any other cheeseheads out there.

As I said though there is truly only one football team for me and it is Glasgow Celtic the Stadium is recognized as Paradise to supporters, which on Major Champions League nights it truly is as there are very few stadia in world the that can emit such passion.

My other favorite sport is Golf and while I may reside in the United States I always cheer for my European counterparts come Ryder Cup time. For those not up to speed on golf terms, a 2 on a par 5 (-3) is called an Albatross in Scotland and a 3 on the same hole is termed and Eagle (-2). Somewhere, sometime when possibly Bobby Jones or Arnold Palmer crossed the pond the Albatross became a Double Eagle (would that not be -4), but to me Football will always be Football and an Albatross will be forever out of reach.

One of my favorite Cities in the world, and I have been fortunate enough to live here several times, as I noted before is San Diego. It is my second home and I hope to stay a while.

Why? It’s all about the weather!!! After a decade in the humidity of Houston I had forgotten what it felt like to walk streets in a summer evening without searching for an air conditioned space.

Unfortunately my second favorite American Football team have upped sticks to LA but that just leaves more time for the beach with my kids.

This is the excerpt for your very first post.

Until recently I had spent a decade in Houston Texas which couldn’t have been more culturally and politically different than my first taste of the United States. Variety is the spice of life as they say and I truly miss many aspects of the Lone Star State.

One of my favorites was the Houston Rodeo “cookoff” , which if you are in Houston at the time is a must visit.

Many of my friends have been impacted and some evacuated by the recent hurricane and resultant flooding, I wish them and the bluebonnet future growth and prosperity.
