OHMYGOSSIP — Andrea Bocelli has announced his first album of new material in 14 years.
The Italian singer – who was the Classic BRIT Icon Award this week – wanted to start a new chapter and channel his youth on his forthcoming record, ‘Sì ‘, which is to be released on Decca/Sugar Records on October 26.
He said: “I wanted to go back to my memories of being a young man, playing at a piano bar.
“Obviously since then, I’ve produced lots of albums, sung lots of covers, performed many other things.
“But at a certain point I said to myself: ‘Maybe the time has come to put my effort into finding new songs.’ Like starting all over again, as it were, in my career.”
The intimate collection of tracks that celebrate love, faith and family, were recorded at his home in Italy and were produced by the legendary Bob Ezrin (Pink Floyd, Lou Reed).
The lead track ‘If Only’ has been recorded in three languages, English, Spanish and Italian, and was co-written by Francesco Sartori and the late Lucio Quarantotto – who helped pen one of Bocelli’s biggest hits, ‘Con Te Commenting, over two decades ago.
Explaining the meaning of the album title, which translates to Yes, Bocelli said: “In this historical period we are going through right now, we too often say no.
“But yes is the word you say when you have your first kiss, when you agree with somebody, when want to make someone feel good.
“Sì is the word you say every time things will end well.
“For a thousand and one reasons, sì is the expression of a positive, powerful, human word and feeling and emotion.”
Last night, Bocelli joined Ed Sheeran on stage at London’s Wembley Stadium to perform their duet ‘Perfect’.

OHMYGOSSIP — Rihanna has confirmed she is working on new music.
The 30-year-old Bajan star is keeping details close to her chest, but has reassured fans that they can expect to hear something new from the star – who featured on DJ Khaled’s ‘Wild Thoughts’ and N.E.R.D’s ‘Lemon’ last year – at some point.
Appearing on ‘The Graham Norton Show’ on Friday night (15.06.18), she teases: “I am actually in the studio at the moment.”
However, when asked when fans can expect new tunes, she said: “You’ll just have to wait and see.”
The ‘Diamonds’ singer was promoting her new movie, ‘Ocean’s 8′, and made performer Olly Alexander from Years & Years’ dreams come true being in the same room as his idol.
He said: “I couldn’t sleep when I found out who would be on the show.”
Asked which of them is his favourite, he said: “It’s you, it’s you, it’s you! You have been such an inspiration to me and I love you.”
Rihanna’s castmates Sandra Bullock, Sarah Paulson, Cate Blanchett and Helen Bonham Carter are also on the ITV show.
In April, it was rumoured that Rihanna is rumoured to be working on two new albums.
The singer was reportedly disappointed with how her last LP, ‘Anti’ performed, and is planning to storm the charts with a double-disc record of sizzling tracks.
A source said at the time: “Rihanna wasn’t happy with how her last album performed – even though she loved how it turned out, she knows she needs a new project full of smash hits to avoid two back-to-back flops.
“She’s currently recording two albums – one full of chart-friendly songs, and another made up of moody and experimental tracks – and is considering releasing a double disc if she feels the songs won’t mesh well on the same album.”
‘Anti’ was released in 2016 and was placed at number 32 in the UK in the end of year charts and five in the 2016 US Billboard 200.
It was reported last year that Rihanna had registered two new songs with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers copyright organisation (ASCAP) titled ‘Phatty’ and ‘Only One Who Knows’. ‘Phatty’ is thought to have been co-written with reggae artist Buju Banton.
‘The Graham Norton Show’ airs on BBC One tonight (15.06.18) at 10.45pm.

OHMYGOSSIP — DNCE have surprised fans with a new EP.
Joe Jonas and co dropped ‘People To People’ today (15.06.18), to show how the ‘Cake By The Ocean’ group – completed by bassist-and-keyboardist Cole Whittle, guitarist JinJoo, and drummer Jack Lawless – have developed their sound and “matured” since releasing their 2016 self-titled album.
Joe said: “These new songs represent the evolution that the band has gone through over the last couple of years.
“They’re a little more chill, sophisticated. We’ve matured together, and so has the music.”
The mini album features four songs; ‘TV In The Morning’, ‘Still Good’, ‘Lose My Cool’ and ‘Man On Fire’.
The pop group – who won Best New Artist at last year’s MTV Video Music Awards – are set to join Bruno Mars on the European leg of his ’24K Magic Tour’, which kicks off in Barcelona on June 20, and wraps up at London’s British Summer Time Hyde Park on July 14.
Meanwhile, the 28-year-old singer recently admitted it would be a “dream” to duet with Kacey Musgraves.
The former Jonas Brothers star is huge fan of the country star – who released her third album ‘Golden Hour’ in March – and would love to team up with her on a song.
Asked if it’s on the cards, he said: “I would love that. That would be amazing. I am a huge Kacey Musgraves fan. Doing a collaboration with her a duet would be a dream.”
DNCE’s tour dates with Bruno Mars are as follows:
June 20: Barcelona, Spain at Estadio Olimpic
June 22: Madrid, Spain at Wanda Stadium
June 30: Paris, France at Saint-Denis
July 10: Glasgow, Scotland at Glasgow Green
July 12: Dublin, Ireland at Marlay Park
July 14: London, UK at BST Hyde Park

OHMYGOSSIP — Ozzy Osbourne was one of the last people to speak to late Motorhead frontman Lemmy.
The ‘Paranoid’ hitmaker knew his friend was nearing the end of his life on December 28, 2015, and says the ‘Ace of Spades’ hitmaker – who passed away after a battle with inoperable prostate cancer – had no idea who he was.
He recalled: “I phoned him on the day he died. I knew he was dying. He didn’t even know it was me … I had to say to him: ‘It’s Ozzy, Lem.’ He just gurgled down the phone to me. I said Lemmy, for f**k[s] sake, stay there, I’m coming.”
The 69-year-old rocker wanted to drive to Lemmy’s home, but his wife Sharon told him it was too late.
He told Metal Hammer magazine: “I said to Sharon, ‘F**k it, get in the car, we’re going round to his apartment.’
“And just as we were leaving she came up to me and said, ‘Don’t worry, he’s gone.'”
The Black Sabbath frontman has fond memories of his time on the road with Motorhead on his first American tour, ‘The Blizzard of Ozz Tour’, in 1980 and 1981.
He said: “That’s a memory I’ll take to my grave you know. Good times, they were all good guys, I miss them all to be honest.”
The pair wrote several songs together, including ‘Mama, I’m Coming Home’ – along with his guitarist Zakk Wylde and multi-platinum producer/engineer Tom Fletcher – which Ozzy performed during his headlining set at Download Festival last weekend.
Not long after Lemmy’s death, Ozzy revealed it was a running joke between them of who would die first, because they’d both lived the rock ‘n’ roll lifestyle abusing drugs and alcohol for years.
He said: “Me and Lemmy go back a long time. We used to have a standing joke with each other, ‘Which one of us is going to go first?’ But I curbed my ways, staying up all night and all that, a long time ago.
“But Lemmy said to me one time, ‘What’s the point of living to 99 if you’re not enjoying it? It’s my life and I want to have fun with it.
“And he lived to 70. And the way he lived, smoking cigarettes, drinking and all that, he knew he wouldn’t be doing it. You can’t live that lifestyle and live ’til 99. Very rarely, some people can. Most of us drop off along the way.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Toni Collette feels like “many more roles are opening up for women”.
The 45-year-old actress – who is a veteran of the movie business – has revealed she’s been delighted to witness the way the Time’s Up movement has changed the industry for the better, and Toni believes there are an increasingly diverse range of opportunities for female performers.
She explained: “I’m now a middle-aged woman and … it feels like many more roles are opening up for women. That’s my personal experience.
“It’s not just this industry, it’s society at large. There’s been this ridiculous sense of inequality. Anyway, it’s about time. It’s such a necessary change and it really is occurring. You can feel it.”
Toni’s latest movie, the thriller ‘Hereditary’, is loosely based on director Ari Aster’s own experiences.
And the Australian actress has admitted she thoroughly relished the experience of working with the up-and-coming filmmaker.
She told The i Newspaper: “Ari is the most meticulous director I’ve ever worked with.
“As an actor, when you’re working with material this intense, you can feel vulnerable if you don’t feel supported. But he was just as dedicated and married to this story as I was.
“I can’t even tell you … the emails I received, like, reams. There was so much backstory and so much detail. There is so much ambiguity in there, but the way everything was knitted together was so exciting.”

OHMYGOSSIP — Sarah Paulson thinks working in the TV industry is currently a more attractive proposition than the movie business.
The 43-year-old actress – who won an Emmy and a Golden Globe for her starring role in the TV series ‘The People v. O. J. Simpson: American Crime Story’ – stars alongside a host of A-listers in the new ‘Ocean’s 8’ movie, but Sarah believes that the writing is currently stronger in the TV business.
She confessed: “There was a time where nobody wanted to do television, it was just a bunch of dodos, and it was like, ‘You can’t get any film work huh? Going over to TV? Aww, I’m sorry’.
“And now I feel like very accomplished people in the film world know that where the storytelling is, where the writing is, where the roles are, tend to be in television right now.”
Meanwhile, Sandra Bullock – who stars alongside Sarah in the much-hyped new film – believes that streaming services like Netflix are actually helping the movie industry.
She explained that the pressure created by streaming services is forcing studios to improve the quality of their work.
Sandra – who is one of the most bankable actresses in Hollywood – told the BBC: “I honestly feel the Netflix world, the streaming world, is influencing the quality of films.
“Films are losing people to the streaming world, and I think we now need to step up our game in the film industry in order to keep an audience.”
