This song was written about being in, and getting out of a bad relationship with someone with a personality disorder… Let me know what you think. Should I post more videos of my music? LoL You know I will anyway
Seriously though if you have ever been in this kind of relationship you know what I felt, If not you need to learn what to look out for! Narcissists, sociopaths, psychopaths, anyone with a personality disorder will not announce themselves. They will not acknowledge the to you or anyone else, even themselves for the most part that they have any issues. If you get involved with them they will eventually tear you down and try to destroy you. I will post more on this subject soon as I feel it is important.
Hope everyone has a good day / night..
The Premise… This may sound like a silly question and of course you are always you, but what I mean is what would you do if you weren’t limited by your own personal talents or skill sets? If you weren’t limited by anything for that matter. Think about it for a minute.. Are you having … Continue reading "What Would You be If You Didn’t Have to be “You”? Time To Get...
This may sound like a silly question and of course you are always you, but what I mean is what would you do if you weren’t limited by your own personal talents or skill sets? If you weren’t limited by anything for that matter. Think about it for a minute.. Are you having visions of being a superstar? An astronaut or test pilot? What about ending world hunger and creating world peace? Or maybe just amplifying a talent or skill you already possess and taking it to the nth degree, becoming the best…
Think about this…
When you are a child you live out elaborate fantasies that help you learn about your true self and what you would do if you didn’t have to be “you”. For some these fantastic dreams and stories become their reality, while others “grow up” and become what society dictates they should be. Why is this?
The whole problem is we did “grow up”! We have forgotten that it is necessary to be able to be in that child like state where fantasy is reality and anything is possible. As adults we stop ourselves from trying new things we want to do with logic and reason. We tell ourselves it’s impossible because we aren’t good enough, we don’t have enough money (instead of knowing you will find a way to get it) or we think the odds of failure are too high, when we should just go for it!
Stop being so grown up! Take chances, live in the moment and never fear failure! Learn to believe that anything is possible and don’t limit yourself to the “you” that you have been in the past. Does this mean you will achieve your dreams? Well no, of course not but you will feel good about yourself for trying and one things for certain, you won’t achieve your dreams if you don’t give yourself a chance to explore them!
So to really get to know about yourself at a deeper level and achieving your dreams takes more than daydreaming and trying new things but that’s a good start. The late, great Dr. Carl Jung developed a technique that stands the test of time. Basically it’s a set of questions that determines personality traits, strengths and weaknesses of your personality to help further your understanding of yourself. I tried this personality test the other day and I have to say it was spot on. It also told me lots of things I had always felt but failed to acknowledge. Try it for yourself.. Take the free personality quiz here.
Live the Dream…
Or at least try to… I’m still trying myself and I’m definitely not there yet but the simple act of believing anything is possible and going for it is already changing my life and making me feel more positive about myself. I’ve been able to really start exploring my music more, pushing my boundaries and now I have the upcoming opportunity to try my hand as a session guitarist… something I always thought was well beyond my grasp. It does work, and I’m not afraid to fail so that gives me an edge.
I hope you have found this post inspirational.. best of luck to all

While being unemployed is not a preferable situation and can be extremely stressful, there is another side to it. I am currently in this situation, I have to admit in many ways unemployment sucks and is perhaps one of the scariest, most uncertain times in my life thus far. However.. I have found several upsides and I strongly feel that this time in my life is ultimately going to change me for the better.
Time to clear your head & evaluate your true purpose in life:
While you are out of work obviously you have time to think. While a lot of these thoughts will inevitably evolve out of fear, worry & possibly self doubt, if you breathe for a minute and stay positive it gives you a chance to turn these negatives into positives. I believe making a point to take time to clear your head is essential while you are unemployed. You can do this by simply doing something that relaxes you, whether it be taking a walk, a hot bath, working out, or even listening to your favorite music. While you are doing this concentrate on what is unique and positive about yourself. Think about things that you enjoy doing and what makes you happy. Clearing your head and evaluating your true purpose in life while you are out of work will help you make better decisions about what you want to do in the future as well as help you decide whether it is time to make a career change or not.
Time to pursue your hobbies and passions:
Pursuing your hobbies and passions in life is always important to develop yourself as a person but it is even more important when you are out of work. Not only is it fun but it helps you develop a sense of who you are and what you really want to do in life. Take advantage of this during your unemployment and have some fun!
More time with family/friends:
Being unemployed gives you time to reconnect and strengthen relationships with family and friends. Take advantage of this. Just think of all the times you wanted to connect but couldn’t because you were busy with work, too tired from work or had to get to bed early because you had work in the morning. You don’t have to worry about this for the time being! This also has the added plus of giving you a support group to help you through your period of unemployment.
Time to help others:
Take some time to help others, not only is it rewarding and makes you feel good about yourself… It helps other people! If your like me there have been countless times that you simply couldn’t due to other obligations. While you are unemployed, when opportunity presents itself or you can make an opportunity, take the time to help someone with something.
A chance to try new things:
All of us have new things we would love to try. Maybe you want to try your hand at writing, start a blog (lol), play an instrument or anything within reason and your budget of course take some time while you are out of work to try it! This time also gives you the possibility of changing your career path and trying something new in that respect.
An opportunity to change your life:
Ultimately unemployment gives you a new lease on life if you let it. You have a chance to clear your head, get introspective, develop further as a person and possibly find your true purpose in life. Being unemployed can be a positive life changing experience if you do it right. Don’t let losing your job, or quitting your job for all the right reasons destroy you let it transform you.

“No individual has any right to come into the world and go out of it without leaving behind him distinct and legitimate reasons for having passed through it.” George Washington Carver
George Washington Carver was absolutely right when he said this! If we don’t know our purpose all we are doing is floundering around, only doing what we are told or expected to do instead of fully living our lives. Here’s the question though. How do you KNOW your purpose?
#1 Let yourself dream
This is where it all starts, daydream… fantasize about what it would like to be a rockstar, a celebrity, a business giant, anything that tickles your fancy and puts a smile on your face.Maybe you’ve always wanted to be a famous writer, let that scenario play out in your mind.
#2 Think about what you really LOVE to do
My guess is it is one of the things you were dreaming about in #1. If you have a talent for something, a hobby, anything you are passionate about… EXPLORE IT! This may be your true calling. Perhaps you already had a clue but never pursued it because you were focused on doing what you “should”. (see #4)
#3 Consider the kind of people you want around you
Think about the kind of people you want in your life. What kind of friends do you want to spend time with? What kind of girlfriend/boyfriend would be your true soulmate? (If you are single) Would you want to marry? Once you know what you are looking for you will start to gravitate towards the right people. Be yourself around them, express yourself in the moment and let your life passion shine through.
#4 Stop doing what you “should”
This is the number one thing that stops people from living their destiny! This is what has held me back for so long but It has finally sunk in. Most of our parents and the society we live in has beaten it into our heads the we have to go to college, start a “real” career and get married. Well if that happens to be your purpose in life and what makes you truly happy then great. BUT YOU DON’T HAVE TO! You are free to pursue your dreams! Of course this doesn’t mean completely neglecting your responsibilities. You may still have to make certain sacrifices in life, but make pursuing your purpose a top priority.
#5 Use your intuition
Trust your intuition and let it guide you. Start living from your heart, not your head. You have all that you need inside. Use your own internal compass and fully live your life to the fullest!
I don’t know about you but I’ve finally had enough of letting the universe beat me down. I’m 42 years old at the time of this writing and I have worked my fingers to the bone trying to do the “right thing” and work for a living instead of using the talent and passion inside … Continue reading "Hello world! I don’t know about you but I’ve finally had enough of letting the universe beat me down. I’m 42 years old at the time of this writing and I have worked my fingers to the bone trying to do the “right thing” and work for a living instead of using the talent and passion inside of me to be my true self and fulfill my destiny. When I was around 8 years old I got my first guitar. By the time I was 14 I felt that spark, that meaning of life. I wanted to play music and I was determined. I wrote this around that time and it has always been close to my heart.
I Did give it a good go, played in several garage bands and eventually had some small success playing in local clubs around North Carolina. Of course that band (Skurj) disbanded when I was in my early twenties, I tried once more after that but it didn’t play out. So what happened? I gave up and poured myself into working hard and trying to make a living ignoring that spark inside of me. I mean I still play and record but that’s it. My true passion, my calling in life has become a hobby!
Of course that’s not all of it, although I think ignoring my soul passion was the root cause. Several bad relationships, horrible jobs and broken dreams later the straw that broke the camel’s back fell directly on me. After working in a Cemetery for almost 5 years I was promoted to supervisor. Now I know that doesn’t sound like a bad thing, LoL well the promotion anyway but at that point the company I worked for (StoneMor) had gotten so bad that the situation and the demands made on me were impossible. I still tried my best but I felt trapped. Eventually It got so bad that several times in a two week span I started getting chest pains at work, not from the physical labor but from the stress. It was then and there I knew I had to get out. So I did. Since then I have had a revelation. I can’t put myself through that anymore. I MUST focus on my passion and find my true path!
Ok well that’s enough venting for now. Tomorrow I want to start getting into the good stuff about how we can improve our lives.
I will leave you with this solo I recorded, It is aptly titled “Hello World” Hopefully you enjoy it. Often I speak better through music than I do through words and I hope this speaks to you.
