Laozi is a superficial name and is a title which one obtained through social respect. Lao 老 stands for “old” and Zi 子 literally means “master”. Pinyin: Lǎozǐ (both symbols are pronounced with the third tone as shown over the character, the third tone falls and then rises again.)
It is believed that Laozi was a keeper of archives for the royal court during the Zhou period (most likely between 6th or 4th century BC). The legend says that he never had a school but attracted a lot of students and disciples which became inspired by his teachings.
Is a great way to get a glimpse of Laozi’s practical understanding of his teachings (the Daodejing). During the movie, he will confront many different situations and solve them without forcing anything. Watch the movie here:
Laozi is regarded as the author of the Dao De Jing, but reading this you probably already know this, this information can be found anywhere on the internet so I will skip the introduction here and continue directly explaining his cause and teachings:
Laozi describes two ways of the Dao, the way of humans and the way of nature. When both worlds harmonize we call it Ziran自然 (zìrán) because, in the end, and beginning, it is the same source. The way of the Dao for humans is called Wuwei 無爲 (wúwéi). Everything against our nature is against the Dao.
Laozi is always looking from the view of a spectator. Seeing yourself in the reflection of a mirror. What is harmony and what is our nature? Without laying down our personal interest and previous experience, we will not be able to understand. That is why children are highly inspirational in a Daoist understanding. The biggest difference in Laozi’s teachings is the influence of the environment and the situation. The connection of the “whole” and finding the “source of all things” in the “here and now” is the key to Laozi’s understanding.
We are asking fundamental questions of why we are here? And what are we doing? But in the end, we stop asking and find harmony in our being by simply being here in this environment and our situation. When someone is not in harmony, the person will stand out like a mountain near a lake.
The teachings of Laozi identify the truth of every small thing that is inside and shares a common course, ultimately it being the way of the Dao. This is the true meaning of our inspiration and the freedom to achieve it, under the laws of nature one can find the paradox of Yin and Yang in everything. Everything can be transformed into being beautiful or ugly, everything can be changed given it the right situation which is controlled by the way of nature and the way of humans.
Doing what is natural is not always the easiest but also not the hardest way. It is the way to direct your energy towards your nature. Give it maximum attention, and you will see yourself in the world. How do we learn to know? Clear your mind and focus on breathing, the most essential practice for our life.
Source of Life
The Source of life is always the same, yet it is understood differently for everybody. Resetting ones believes in a natural state is essential to find the true meaning of the truth behind your existence. Break down the barriers to understanding and play like a child, become aware of your luxury and do not hold on trivial things. By doing that you will find your environment accepting, growing closer to the Dao.
One who never had to harvest for acquiring food does not know how to appreciate the farmers, the harvest, the risks and ultimately the food. Our basic nature never changes and thinking of yourself too highly will make you unable to step down the mountain.
Wuji and Taiji
All energies will be created from Wuji (emptiness) in the moment of true nothingness there will also be Yin and Yang. Once the will of heaven is realized Taiji will emerge. What we realize as our truth will give power to Taiji.
Be the Weakest to be Strongest
Laozi’s understanding is the essence of every truth and its source in it. Water will keep running and will not be harmed by even the sharpest objects, nobody can stop it, but at the same time, it is the most delicate and lowest source on earth which will wash away every past and always keep looking for new ways to reach.

People are okay in general by judging themselves and others and putting them and themselves in a place which they perceive as right. Because this worldview stagnates the growth, problems may occur once physical or mental conditions change.
Welcome to the path of Taoist practice!
We breathe and live but most of the essential things we do subconsciously without realizing its importance. The key of these important things is the natural order in which we reside to keep ourselves in a healthy balance. People are resilient but their minds are weak if not challenged. True comfort is when people understand the difference between comfort and not having comfort. To Taoists an “easy life” is what we want, for Taoists, an “easy life” is an efficient one, so to make ourselves efficient we have to explore our difficulties.
Union of being
We overcome our physical condition when we have a set focus on accomplishment. Our intuition is identifying with our mental state – the concentration, the focus of what we see as so important. Coming directly from our hearts is the emotion of our condition to direct our energy which originates from the Dantian which resides in a Wuji-state (void, empty, calm, quiet) to make all directions possible to choose from.
The mandate of the heavens
One has to overcome earthly desires and boundaries to understand the essence of what it is that keeps us from moving forward. The result is the unbounded and dearest desire which our subconsciousness strived for, also known as the mandate of the heavens – what we truly want to accomplish – our reason for living.

First, let me tell you that you are a creator. Your thoughts are the laws of your Dao, your inner cosmos or whatever you want to call it.
Negative and Positive thoughts are equally important as they reflect on your situation. It is the purpose of your thoughts that may bring you further in life or not.
Before things get too complicated, let us focus on your reality. You usually have all the space you need, but if you accumulate a lot of negative energy, you may find yourself in complicated situations. But if you have a productive inspiration, you will find all the possibilities in that space. It is the strictness and straightness you must focus when being productive, otherwise you will find many people trying to take a piece of your positive energy. This coincidence is why Taoists practice discipline; we cannot make compromises with ourselves or with our situation, including others to achieve the heaven’s mandate, our inspiration.
So with your inspiration, you want the world to change to a better place? Unfortunately, that is not for you to decide. You can, however, show people how the energy is used and make them self-responsible for their actions. With this knowledge, people can learn to be productive on their own without relying on other peoples energy. That is why Taoists will show you the way by never teaching you anything. It is the teacher’s inspiration that has to be inspiring for the student, by being aware of this, the student will learn like a child by trial and error. By watching success and failure the best teacher can be inspired too, he has to be humble to be self-aware.
Now is the time to use this energy as our strength to create new inspiration. Let the chain continue and preserve the tradition. This result is what happens when people learn the essence of Taiji.
Let those who criticize you become inspired by your success. Every step forward will change the situation and result in the very nature of your personality.
We have many things in life, but mostly the self-explaining things are decided by our subconsciousness. Become aware of your subconsciousness and realize your life.
