Finally Hit Level 70
Well I have been playing off and on the past few months, not playing as much as I used it to and trying to have more family time. Well I took my old MM Hunter, respec'ed to BM/MM and now he is level 70 getting ready to buy the first flying mount. Since then I have created numerous toons and have power leveled a few with a guide I have been creating from my first level 70 toon.
So far my new toon list is as follows:
Kirin Tor (RP Realm)
Paladin - Ret. Level 27
Rogue - Sub. Level 29 (PVP)
Priest - Shadow Level 17
Warrior - Proc Level 15
Druid - Feral Level 44
Gul'Dan (PVP Realm)
Warrior - Level 10. - Horde
I plan on power leveling my Undead Warrior to 70 next along with my Druid. The Paladin will be my next 29 pvper once my Rogue moves onto level 39 PvPs. The Warrior and Priest right now are on the far back burner as I am sort of waiting to meet somone who is on the same times I can be to level a healer with my warrior and a warrior with my priest.
At any rate, I do not have any real advice for you. Just kind of an update to what I have been up to in WoW and once I start farming reputation with my 70 hunter, maybe I will have more information for you.
Update to my WoW Blog November 1st 2007
The past month has definitely been a busy one. I have not played nearly as much as I used to (which is probably a good thing). I have my three main chars right now, a Feral Druid (level 17), a BM Hunter for PVP (level 31) and a Mark Hunter for Questing (level 47). I have been working off my 47 Hunter the most recently to gain some gold. I probably have 150g between all of my characters. They are all pretty well set with gear, which is nice.
For the most part, everything is the same nothing new. I may choose to make a human Paladin or a Human Priest once my 47 Hunter reaches level 49 (for pvp of course). That will give me a good break from pvp and work on some new quests. But I also want to earn more gold first, so that is going to be taking priorities with my 47 hunter, as he can earn the most gold.
We will see how it goes. Sorry for no new tips, but it has been kind of hectic and I probably will not be able to write anything new until middle of November. Please feel free to post any tips on paladins that might be helpful to me.
Hollows End in the World of Warcraft
Well today starts the World of Warcraft Halloween's holiday, Hollows End. Everything is decorated from pumpkins to bopping for apples. I am excited to play tonight or tomorrow night and see if I can get a mask to wear! Anyhow time for the talking part (as boring as it may be).
After talking with a few people from my guild last night I found out that you can Un-learn talents for 1 gold the first time then 5g the next etc. Well since I have never done it before I figured I would give it a try since I was un-happy with how I had my Level 42 hunter setup.
My New Level 42 Hunter Specs
The new spec I chose for my level 42 hunter was Marksmanship. Reason being, I like the bow. Since I already have my other hunter going Beast Mastery, I decided to do Marksmanship. So now my Level 42 hunter is 0/33/0. I may decide to switch that up at a later date for 5gs but we will see how this does.
I highly doubt I will do any BG's with this hunter as it is hard to do any type of ranged attack on enemies as they know melee is the hunters weakness. But we will see. It is nice having my mount back though! That is for sure. I probably have 5-6 levels of double xp for him, so it should be fun leveling him up for a while and getting that double xp on my other characters.
Once I figure out how being a marksman spec works out in BG and for questing I will be sure to make a post about it.
Training a Feral Night Elf Druid
My new druid character, who is now level 13, has been chosen to be a Feral druid. After running through the Talent Calculator provided by worldofwarcraft.com, I decided that is where my focus point will be.
Currently the druid has 1/2/0 for his talents. The 1 point under balance is the Nature's Grasp. A very handy spell that when active if anyone hits you they have a chance of being entangled in roots. The other 2 points under Feral is for Ferocity. That is his current position, what the end result will be for this druid is a Tank.
The layout of how I will divy up my points will be under the Restoration, I want Mark of the Wild to be maxed out at 5 points along with Nature's Focus. That will be all for the Restoration portion of my druid. The only point for Balance is going to be the Nature's Grasp.
Since the Feral tree is where I am concentrating on here is they layout I think I will eventually end up as:
Ferocity 5/5
Feral Aggression 5/5
Brutal Impact 2/2
Thick Hide 3/3
Feral Swiftness 2/2
Feral Charge 1/1
Sharpened Claws 3/3
Shredding Attacks 2/2
Predatory Strikes 3/3
Savage Fury 2/2
Faerie Fire 1/1
Nurturing Instinct 2/2
Heart of the Wild 5/5
Survival of the Fittest 3/3
Primal Tenacity 3/3
Leader of the Pack 1/1
Improved Lead of the Pack 2/2
Predatory Instincts 4/5
Mangle 1/1
These are in no particular order. The order I will probably end up doing will vary but I will most likely max out Ferocity first then Thick Hide. Once those are maxed I will do 2 points in Feral Aggression and than 2 points in Feral Swiftness. At this point I am at level 22 from here I will update my Mark of the Wild 5 points which puts me at level 27. So I have 2 points before the BG's start to throw to Feral Charge 1 point and Sharpened Claws 1 point.
After that I am not sure yet as I will stay on level 29 for a while playing Battlegrounds. When I figure it out I will post and let you know, and also let you know how my tanking druid is doing.
Beginner's Night Elf Questing Strategy
Well given that I have done all the beginning Night Elf quests at least 4 times, I decided to create a beginner's guide to it. As there are many different ways to quest, but to quest efficiently is different. If you do have input or another option, please let us know. I do not know all the names of everyone or the quests, but I do know locations and what the quest entails. Hopefully that is enough, I may go back later and add those details.
The Balance of Nature
The initial quest is an easy one "The Balance of Nature", kill 4 Young Thistle Boars and 7 Young Night sabers (name?). Do as you are told and get the level up with the experience. Should only take 5-10 minutes to complete.
After you completed that quest, the next one, which is titled "The Balance of Nature" also is to kill the level 2-3 Thistle boars and Night sabers. Pretty easy, but before you go out and kill the animals, go snatch "A Good Friend" from Dirania Silvershine. She is by a cooking pot North of where you should be. The quest is simple, which is to simply find Iveron. Now that you have those two quests, go and kill the 7 Thistle Boars and 7 Night sabers. Once those are done venture North West till you see a cave with spiders around it. Try to avoid the spiders if possible, but to the west of that cave you should see a path with a guy. That is Iveron. Talk with him and get the quest to report back.
Iveron's Antidore and The Woodland Protector
Head back to Dirania Silvershine first. This will save traveling time since you start out slow. Talk with her and she will send you on "Iveron's Antidote". Well the nice thing about this quest is it coincides with the Centaur quest called, "The Woodland Protector". Head back to the gentleman who gave you "The Balance of Nature". Get the experience and most likely a level up. Talk to him again and start "The Woodland Protector" chain. Go talk to the Cintaur. She should be west of your location. She will tell you to gather 8 Fel Wood Moss. To do this you have to kill about 10-15 Grel's. They are really easy, and since they are yellow you can take them on one at a time. While gathering the moss, you will notice that the Grel's also drop the mushrooms you need for "Iveron's Antidote" this is nice because you can basically knock off two quests with one go.
Webwood Venom
Once you have all your moss and mushrooms, go back to the Cintaur real quick and cash in that quest. Now venture North/North East and you will find Gilshalan Windwalker (he is by the ramp) who starts the quest "Webwood Venom". This is nice to have right now as you can once again do two quests with one blow. Head North from here till you see a pond. There you will find the Lilly pads. Once you have your limit venture north towards the spider cave and kill the spiders for their Ichor and Webwood Venom Sacs. Once you have the limit then return to Gilshalan Windwalker first. Complete that quest and accept the Webwood venom Egg. After that is done head back to Dirania Silvershine, which will start the Third and final part of "Iveron's Antidote". You have 5 minute to deliver the bottle (plenty of time). Head back towards the spider cave and find him and finish that quest.
Webwood Egg
Now if you are around level 4 or 5, venture into the cave and find the webwood egg. Take a left at the cave and follow around. There is a level 5 spider by the egg. Take out the spiders one by one unless you are in a group or a warrior. Once done snatch an Egg and head out. If you want a chest behind the eggs follow the path and it will lead to a chest. If not just walk out before they re-spawn. Return to Gilshalan Windwalker and finish that quest.
A note, I will not go into the class-specific quests so if you see someone with a yellow exclamation then by all means go to them.
Final Note
Given that those are the basic first few quests you have to do starting out as a night elf. I left a few out that are class specific, but that should get you going in the right direction. It is always a good idea to group similar quests as to save time and level faster.
Questions feel free to post here. But please do not post "Where is x or y?" as that information is available on Thotbot.com or Allakhazam.com.
Playing Warsong Gulch with Hunter
Recently I have been playing a lot of Warsong Gulch with my level 29 hunter. To put it short I now have 49 tokens. The nice part about it is I have found a group of two other people, a warlock and a druid, who know how to play battlegrounds. Every round of Warsong Gulch we played together we won.
Our strategy is actually really simple, basically the Warlock stays at base with one or two other people and guards our flag. While the Druid and I sneak into the Horde's base, at which point, I jump down and set a frost trap and un-reveal the rogues hiding while they attack me the druid snatches the flag and runs with it while I keep the people in the base under-wraps with concussion shot and wing clip.
This strategy, although simple, is amazing. We have won 8 BGs in a row with that exact same strategy. The crappy part about it though, if I am playing without them it is tough to find a flag runner. Generally it should be a druid, but a Rogue who knows what he is doing can run the flag very well too. But most people do not listen and just do their own thing, which makes for a long and boring Battleground.
Thats how I like to play Warsong Gulch and will continue that strategy, as it has yet to fail us once.
